Dr Ansarin deals with the diagnosis and treatment of the head and neck (nasopharynx, oral cavity, oropharynx, salivary glands, thyroid) cancers, and is particularly interested in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers of the larynx and hypopharynx with particular reference to the minimally-invasive laser or robot-assisted surgical technique and research on prognostic and predictive factors of response to therapy.

Responsible, as Principal Investigator, for the prospective randomized multicenter study, "Treatment of oropharyngeal tumors in stage I-II: trans oral robotic surgery versus radiotherapy alone" sponsored by the Lombardy region, within the activities of the ROL - Oncology Lombard Network (2010).
2005-2008
Co-Investigator with Dr. Chiesa for the randomized study: A Phase 2 Study of combined modality treatment with primary chemotherapy followed by endoscopic laser resection in intermediate stage laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma: "clinical and biological evaluation", funded by AIRC.
- Founding member of the SRS (Society of Robotic Surgery) and of the AIOCC (Italian Association of Head and Neck Oncology).
- Ordinary member of the Otorhinolaryngoiatric Northern Italy Group, the Italian Society of Cranial Base, the Italian Society of Surgical Oncology (SICO) and SIO.
- He is part of the Editorial Board of the World Journal of Radiology (WJR).
