Laboratory Tests Information

LABORATORY TESTS
IMPORTANT: Before visiting the Institute, please carefully read the information provided on the "Coronavirus: Information for Patients and Visitors" page to ensure a safe visit. 

It is possible to undergo laboratory tests in one of the IEO 's collection points, Via Ripamonti 435 or Via San Luca 8. 
International Patients resident in Italy and with the National Health Insurance Card can undergo laboratory tests  in agreement with the National Health System only with a National Health Service referral or a doctor's prescription for the required tests (patients without a prescription will not be accepted). No appointment is necessary and th service is provided under the payement  of only the service co-payment ticket.  

International Patients not resident in Italy and without the National Health Card can undergo laboratory tests only under payment and with a doctor's refferrall or prescription  for the required tests (patients without a prescription will not be accepted).

Unless otherwise indicated, it is preferable to have the blood test in the morning after fasting for at least 8 hours (drinking water does not break the fast). If you are taking any medications, please follow your doctor’s instructions.
Some tests may require specific preparation or particular sample collection procedures. A complete list of tests performed at IEO is available, along with their respective turnaround times, collection site information, and any relevant instructions.

The locations for blood collection are as follows:

Via Ripamonti 435 – Milan, Building 2, Floor -1
Blood test hours: Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM
Report pickup hours: Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Please note: Certain tests cannot be performed at the Via San Luca location. Please consult the full list of tests or call the dedicated number for more information.

Before proceeding with blood collection, check-in at one of the designated desks is required to provide personal details and confirm the requested analyses.

For tests that require biological sample collection with additives, the appropriate containers can be collected at the blood collection point.

REPORT DELIVERY
During check-in, a document specifying the report delivery date is provided. It is possible to request the report to be sent via email, mail, or courier. Alternatively, the report can be collected by the patient in person by going to the desk during the specified hours, or by an authorized representative who must present their own ID or Passport, the authorization form, and a photocopy of the patient's ID or Passport.
